Brexit has left Labour staring into the abyss

     If Labour was going to form the next government, it should be 12 points ahead in the polls by now. Instead, it is at least that much behind. Brexit has not only shaken the political landscape, but made it quite clear how little the two wings of Labour's support - industrial, immigration-sceptic Leavers in the north and affluent, bien-pensant Remainers in the south - have in common any more.
