It's been a busy first week for Donald Trump. But among his many initiatives, perhaps the most significant - and certainly the most harmful - was to pull out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. This was not only an economic blunder, but a political one. As well as binding the US to its allies in the Pacific, and vice versa, the treaty could have helped persuade China to raise its economic, and humanitarian, standards.
