Panama Papers wins the Pulitzer! ICIJ, McClatchy, and Miami Herald get well-deserved official citations, but it was truly a global investigation, involving hundreds of reporters and editors on six continents. And World Policy Journal was among those lucky enough to play a significant role.
World Policy Journal acted as story editors for the majority of the English-language Africa-based pieces. We worked on stories that uncovered missing taxes from oil revenue in Uganda, a mega-infrastructure deal in Namibia connected to a FIFA-related entity, secrecy in Beny Steinmetz’s diamond empire, and hidden players in Angola’s sovereign wealth fund.
We're proud to have been part of the groundbreaking, Pulitzer-winning project.
